Automated, Personalized Product Demos with Karumi
Hi Hacker News! We’re Toni and Pablo, creators of Karumi (https://www.karumi.ai), a system designed to deliver instant, scalable, fully automated product demonstrations. It guides users through your product without human involvement and works seamlessly in any language.
Check out our demo video: https://www.loom.com/share/e7f7e00f2284478e8335f8f4d4dac6bd. You can also experience a live demo at https://www.karumi.ai/meet/start/phlz.
Karumi acts as an AI agent that interacts with a real web application in a shared browser session, guiding users step-by-step. Instead of traditional demos by humans, the agent opens your application, clicks, fills forms, and explains actions. Originally developed as an internal tool, it evolved to address the inconsistency and outdated nature of manual demos, aiming for a reliable, repeatable experience. The system understands core workflows, adapts to user needs, and navigates the product confidently.
Our solution comprises three core parts:
– A control layer that plans actions, asks questions, clicks, navigates, resets, all with reasoning within a safe action set, avoiding uncontrolled browsing.
– A browser execution layer that streams a controlled session via video, logging each action with timestamps and reasoning for troubleshooting.
– A product knowledge layer that ingests documentation, scripts, videos, and analytics to inform the agent’s decisions during demos.
Currently, Karumi supports web apps, with plans to expand to desktop applications. To ensure safety, it incorporates checkpoints, conservative navigation, and reset options, especially since large language models (LLMs) can be unpredictable. The agent requests user clarification if it encounters unfamiliar UI states.
Pricing is flexible, tailored to each client’s needs, based on a platform fee and per-demo charges. The platform fee depends on complexity and required support.
Usage so far includes inbound demo requests and internal product testing. For example, you can see Karumi demonstrated within Deel’s platform here: https://www.loom.com/share/e7f7e00f2284478e8335f8f4d4dac6bd.
We welcome questions and feedback from the community and look forward to connecting.
